The World Cup is the largest viewed sporting event in the entire world, and will be held in South Africa from June 11 - July 11, 2010. It is the largest soccer tournament, and is only held every four years. Likewise, the Zoo Paradise items will only be available until July 12th. Zoo Paradise is the first game we've seen that has released soccer items for the World Cup, but we suspect that it won't be the last. Unfortunately, to participate in this celebration you will have to pay Facebook Credits. which is likely to upset Zoo Paradise players who like to spend time rather than money to enjoy the game.

Happy Aquarium goes to the World Cup with tank backgrounds

It looks like Crowdstar is fully on board the FIFA World Cup train this year, as they first released soccer items in Zoo Paradise and now have released them in Happy Aquarium as well. Happy Aquarium now has 18 new tank backgrounds for your aquarium that you proudly display which country you are rooting for in the World Cup. Each of these backgrounds cost 36 Pearls or 30 Facebook Credits.

The World Cup is going to be running from June 11 through July 11th, so these limited time backgrounds will probably be gone shortly thereafter. We're sure there are more backgrounds to come, as there are 32 countries participating in the World Cup and only 18 are represented so far. It's also possible that the smaller countries will not be represented in Happy Aquarium.

Treetopia reveals secrets with new epic story quest

Treetopia is a unique Facebook game, in that it attempts to provide more story than most other casual games we cover here on Games.com - The Blog. In the weeks since it has been released, Playdom have been teasing us by saying that we'll soon be able to find out more about the tree that is the main focal point of our village. Now, there is a whole epic story quest line that gives players a better indication of why they're there on Treetopia, and where they're going.

There are four stages of the new epic quest, including learning of the tree, traveling to Panther Island, clearing out plants, and finally, saving the Great Tree. You can find the beginning quest on the right side of your quest map. Participating in this quests does require resources just like regular Treetopia quests. We won't spoil the story here, because you should definitely log in to Treetopia and complete these quests to really immerse yourself in the world of Treetopia and learn the secrets of the Great Tree.

Pet Society: Hideeni celebrates World Cup

Hideeni's got a sporty new look in honor of the World Cup. He looks so cute, but I just want to kick him!

He's giving out 15 flags from around the globe. What's really interesting is that Playfish is going to be watching the World Cup matches closely and offering the flags as long as the teams remain in the competition. (I'm a bit mystified why all 32 nations in the World Cup weren't included in this group of flags-South Korea, for example isn't represented. I guess Playfish doesn't have much confidence in the Red Devils.)

Which nation will be the last one standing? We'll find out in about a month. The World Cup goes from June 11-July 11.

Check out the rest of this post to see all the flags that Hideeni is giving away! Pet Society Hideeni's World Cup Flags
